August on Ft Myers Beach: Watching Santini Plaza Come Back to Life!

If you’ve been anywhere near the south end of Ft. Myers Beach lately, you know there’s been a LOT of talk about South Beach Grille!

And yes — the table linens are going on the tables!

We’ve been watching the progress right along with you. While an official opening date has yet to be delivered, here’s what we can tell you from our observations:

If you are seeking employment opportunities, see the South Beach Grille facebook page where they posted a JOIN OUR TEAM post on July 27, 2026.

We feel pretty confident South Beach Grille will be ready for you in October!

And believe us, we’re ready too!

What About the Old Sandbar Space?

We’ve also got our eyes on the space previously occupied by Sandbar.

So far… no tables yet.

There is activity, though, so for now all we can say is:

Please stand by!

And Over Easy Café?

We are hopeful!

That entire area is definitely a work in progress, and we’ll keep watching as things develop.

There’s another change happening in Santini Plaza too. If you haven’t heard, Freaky Boutique has decided to move into a different lease space, and their previous location is now under redevelopment.

Little by little, things are changing!

Did You Know Leani’s Hosts a Santini Plaza Calendar?

One thing we hear all the time is:

“What’s going on down here?”

So we decided to make it easier to find out!

Leani’s hosts the Santini Plaza Calendar, featuring events and activities happening on Estero Island, with a special focus on Santini Plaza and the south end of Fort Myers Beach.

You can find the calendar several easy ways:

  • Go directly to FMBsouth.com

  • Visit Leanis.com and click Santini Plaza Calendar

  • Find us through the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce

And because we believe the whole island benefits when there are more things to see and do, if you’re looking for a north-end focus, visit WhatsUpFMB.com. You just might find something else fun and entertaining happening while you’re here!

Why Are We Doing All This?

Because we love this island.

Ft Myers Beach has lost a lot. There is still so much rebuilding to do, but there are also so many of us — and so many of you — who absolutely love it here.

That’s why we’re still here.

We love the beach.
We love the vibe.
We love the people who keep coming back.

And we are incredibly thankful for your support of the large group of people who have chosen to make Ft Myers Beach their life, rebuild their businesses, reopen their doors and create a place for others to enjoy again.

Every time you shop, eat, attend an event, bring your family or simply spend an afternoon on Ft Myers Beach, you’re part of rebuilding this community.

So now we want to hear from YOU!

What are you doing this fall and winter season?

Are you coming back to Ft Myers Beach? Bringing family or friends? Looking for live music, shopping, restaurants, events or just a great day at the beach?

Let us know how we can help create a little happiness — and some great Ft Myers Beach memories — for you and your family.

Why:  Because, we love the beach.  We love the vibe.  And, we LOVE Ft Myers Beach.

Your friends at Leani’s and all of Santini Plaza are holding things together until we see you again!
